If you can access an ebook that does not have DRM (digital rights management) restriction, you can practically view it on Kindle. Except for a few cases, you will first have to download it to your computer, do the conversion, and then transfer it to Kindle via USB cable.
Here are a number of content sources that are actually out there.

Mnybks – This is an actual extension of Manybooks.net above (over 19,000 books). All you have to do is use the web browser on your Kindle to access the site, then download books directly to your Kindle, the same way you would any download any Amazon book:

* Search for and enter a Book ID that you want.
* Choose the Mobipocket version of the book – NO OTHER VERSION WILL WORK.
* From the pop-up screen that appears, provide confirmation info and book will appear in your home screen in a few seconds – IF YOU ARE IN WIRELESS “hot spot.”
* Use the computer/USB cable combination, if you are not in a wireless “hot spot.”
MobiPocket – numerous titles, some of which you can also find on Amazon.com for less. Use mobipocket reader to convert and then download to Kindle.
